Hello Team Riley ~

We are having a run this year.  This will be the 3rd annual Riley Anson Mitchell Memorial Run.  The date is SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH 2012.  We are only having the run and walk.  There will be no F.R.O.G.-a-thon to keep things very simple and to honor Riley.

More details to come and the link will be updated so that you can register for the run/walk.  We will have a deadline for registration to guarantee a t-shirt this year too.

In honor of Riley we are going to have a bigger and better event this year.  We feel so blessed to be able to do this in his honor.  We had a great event last year and are working out a few of the kinks.  Just a few highlights---
~ planning to have registration packet pick-up prior to run/walk day

~down sizing a few events (SIMPLIFY :)

~fall fun day to include pumpkin painting for all ages, etc

~more food vendors, yum yum

All you need to do is start walking or training "couch to 5K" and you will be ready for Sat., Sept. 24th.  Fun for all ages!!

Fill up your coin banks --- September will be here before we know it :)

WOW!!!  What a wonderful day.  Thank you to everyone that was a part of this beautiful day.  The race went perfect.  No-one got hurt.  It was such a joyful way to honor Riley and help raise money for the school.  We are already talking about more things to do next year and it can only get bigger and better.  Keep checking in for next years date and hints for more fun.

September 24-26 may be one of the most impactful times in the life of our school, Fairfield Christian Academy! Here is what we are doing:
FRIDAY, SEPT. 24TH IS OUR:
Serve-a-thon (students serve local charities, individuals and churches)
Golf-a-thon for parents, staff, and friends
Putt-putt-a-thon for our Kindergarten and Preschool students


SATURDAY, SEPT. 25TH   (9 AM to 4 PM at the fairgrounds) includes:
The Riley Anson Mitchell Memorial F.R.O.G-a-thon (Fully Rely On God) 5K, 10K, and one mile walk
Kid’s Race, Bike Race & Decorating Contest
Family-friendly games and competitions (Doggie Dress-Up, Horse Rides, Bounce Houses)
Car and Motorcycle Show
Vendors for food and crafts
Giant Yard Sale


SUNDAY, SEPT. 26TH  includes our:
Celebration Services at 9:00 and 10:30 a.m.
Prayer and Thanksgiving service at 6:30 p.m.

By that Sunday we are praying to reach at least $500,000 to meet two needs. First, we will erase a loan of $201,000 that we have been paying on for over four years. Second, we will underwrite the scholarships that are provided for the children of our teachers, ministers, and other qualifying families. Please note: This year you may designate your gift to specifically meet one of these needs or both.
The economy has hit many families hard. Our school wants to be sure it follows a Biblical pattern of financial management while providing a solid CHRIST–BASED education for as many families as possible. Please make FCA your non-profit of choice! Your donation is tax deductible!
Would you consider a generous gift to support me as I participate in these events? In fact, if you have given before, would you prayerfully consider doubling last year’s gift FOR JUST THIS YEAR? Each student is working to raise at least $500 in support of our ministry. I hope you can join me on September 24th through 26th as we serve and celebrate the Lord’s blessings.

MEMORIAL RUN/WALK UPDATE

Wanted to let everyone know that we are providing "timing chips" for the memorial run/walk.  For those of you that don't know this is a little "chip" that you attach to your laces on your shoe.  It gives you a very accurate start and stop time as you cross over the timing strip.

WELCOME. This is a new blog for you and your friends to check for information on the upcoming "FROG-a-thon" It is an entire weekend of fun events that we want to be sure that you don't miss.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 25TH = F.R.O.G.-A-THON

You can prepare to run the 10K, 5K,  or come and let the kids play in the bounce houses, check out the craft show or just get something to eat. The car and motorcycle show will be fun for all. The High School will be having a yard sale to raise money for their mission trip. :)  A doggie costume contest.  Kids bicycle race.  Horses to dress up and take a ride.  Carnival games and so much more.......

The 10K, 5K, 1 mile run/walk is in memory of Riley Anson Mitchell a second grader that passed away March 11th from a rare form of brain cancer (Neurocutaneous Melanosis). He attended Fairfield Christian Academy since preschool. His friends and family want to keep his memory alive and be able to provide scholarships so that more children can attend school in a safe, christian environment.
